What Haas actually requires from transfer applicants
Transfers enter the two-year Spieker Undergraduate Business Program in junior year. High school applicants can be admitted directly to the four-year Spieker program, the Global Management Program, or M.E.T., which is a different path from this one.

You are guessing at the prerequisites
The list is specific and articulation to your college is not obvious. A course that does not transfer is an avoidable gap that suggests nobody checked.
You did not know about the second deadline
The UC application closes November 30. The Haas supplemental is a separate submission due January 31, and applicants miss it every year.
Your GPA is below the admitted average
The eligibility minimum is 3.0, but admitted transfers averaged 3.99. Below that, the rest of the file has to do visibly more work, and most applicants do not know how.

The alternate major decides more than applicants expect
Haas admits transfers into a two-year junior-entry program. Your alternate major is the difference between an offer from Berkeley and no offer at all.
- Pick one you would actually attend. A strategic alternate you would decline wastes the slot. Most applicants choose on odds rather than on interest.
- Make the coursework serve both. A plan where prerequisites count toward Haas and toward the alternate, so neither path is compromised.
- Say the same thing in both files. A reader who sees business ambition in one place and something unrelated in the other believes neither.
